URL shortening on the shortest domain we have

Eight characters, then whatever you want after the slash.

short.bi · URL shortening on Digily Link

Long URLs break in messages, get truncated in bios and tell nobody where they go. short.bi puts eight characters in front of yours and hands you the rest. Change the destination whenever you like and every copy already out there follows.

What is a shortened link actually doing?

It redirects

The short address is not the page. It is a signpost that answers with a redirect and sends the browser onward, in a few milliseconds.

It stays editable

Because the destination lives in a record rather than in the link, you can move it later without touching anything already shared.

It counts

Every request passes through your account, so clicks, countries, devices and referrers are recorded on the way.

It can decide

The same address can send an Android phone one way, a desktop in Germany another, and everyone else somewhere else again.

Digily Link tools

What you get on the link itself.

Shortening is the easy half. These are the controls that make a link worth keeping in a campaign.

Custom endings

Type the word you want after the slash. short.bi/spring is readable, typeable and worth saying out loud, unlike a random code.

Editable destinations

Point the link somewhere else at any time. Everything already shared, printed or embedded follows without a reprint.

Geo and device routing

Send visitors to different destinations by country, device or browser language, from one address.

Rotation and A/B

Split traffic between two or more destinations, watch which one performs, then keep it.

UTM and query pass through

Campaign parameters are carried to the destination automatically, so your analytics stay intact.

Locks and limits

Passwords, start and expiry dates, click limits and deep links into apps where the destination supports them.

From long to short

Every character costs something

Why an eight character domain?

In a text message, an ad headline or a spoken address, length is a real constraint. short.bi spends eight characters on the domain and gives the rest back to you.

https://short.bi/spring
  • It leaves room for the word: the memorable part of the link is the part after the slash, and here it gets the space.
  • It fits where links do not: SMS, printed captions, radio reads and profile fields with hard character limits.
  • It stays in one place: links, routing rules, codes and statistics all live in the same Digily Link account.

Short and direct

short.bi questions and answers

How a shortened link works, whether it is safe, what you can change afterwards and what it costs.

What is short.bi?

short.bi is a domain you can choose inside Digily Link when you shorten a URL or make a QR code. It is not a separate platform and it does not need its own account.

How does a URL shortener work?

The short address is stored against your destination. When somebody opens it, the server looks the record up, records the click and answers with a redirect that sends the browser to the real page. The whole exchange takes a few milliseconds and the visitor sees the destination, not the hop.

What is the point of shortening a link?

Three things. It fits where a long URL does not, it can be read out loud or typed from print, and it can be pointed somewhere else after it has been shared. The third is the reason most people keep using one.

Is it safe to click a shortened link?

A short link hides its destination, which is why the domain in front matters. Links on short.bi are served over HTTPS from a domain that belongs to Digily Link, abusive links can be reported through the violation form, and you can always see where your own links point from your dashboard.

Can I choose the ending myself?

Yes. Type whatever you want after the slash as long as nobody else on short.bi has taken it. Short, spellable words survive being typed from a poster.

Do UTM parameters still work?

Yes. Query parameters are carried through to the destination, so campaign tracking in your own analytics keeps working exactly as it did before you shortened the link.

Can one link send people to different places?

Yes. Routing rules can pick the destination by country, device or browser language, and rotation can split traffic between two destinations so you can compare them.

Is it free?

Yes, within the limits of the free Digily Link plan, with no card required. Paid plans raise the limits and add features, and your links keep the same addresses.
